Key Terms:
The key terms would consist of digestive system, saliva, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder and enzymes. The digestive system is when you eat food and you break down the food into smaller pieces with your mouth. Your saliva helps break down the food. Once you swallowed your food, it would go to the esophagus. The esophagus would break down the food and move it to the stomach. The stomach uses acids to break down the food and digests the food completely. Once the food is digested through the stomach, it is moved to the small intestine. The small intestine will absorb nutrients from the food. The food is sent to the large intestine, where the large intestine would absorb water from the undigested food. Once that had finished, the food is moved to the liver which create enzymes and gallbladder which stores bile.

Summary:
Food that you have chewed up and digested usually stays in your body for three days. The large intestine is only called large because it is wider than the small intestine.
